How employees opt in to texts

Program: OG Construction Crew Texts, run by OG Construction Corp., Ketchikan, Alaska. This page shows how an employee gives consent and the exact wording we use.

Who this is for

OG Construction employees only. We do not collect text-message opt-ins from customers or the public, and this program sends no marketing. Texts are: a one-time crew-app account setup link, crew schedule changes, and job-site updates.

The opt-in steps

  1. Hiring or onboarding. When a new crew member is hired, they fill out OG Construction's new-hire paperwork with the office. The paperwork has a separate text-message consent section (shown below). It is not pre-checked, and it is not bundled into any other agreement.
  2. The employee chooses. The employee reads the consent section, writes their mobile number, checks the box, and signs. Leaving it unchecked is fine; they still get their job information by email, phone call, or in person.
  3. We record the consent. The office keeps the signed form (date, name, mobile number, and the consent wording they agreed to).
  4. The first text. An OG Construction administrator enters the employee's name and mobile number in the crew app. The app sends one text with a one-time setup link for their crew-app account. Every text identifies OG Construction and says "Reply STOP to opt out."
  5. Ongoing texts. After that, the employee receives crew schedule changes and job-site updates from the same number until they reply STOP or leave the company.

Exact consent wording

This is the text-message consent section on the new-hire paperwork, word for word:

Work text messages (optional)

Mobile number: ____________________

Employee signature: ____________________   Date: ____________

The checkbox above is a sample and is shown unchecked, exactly as it appears on the form. Nothing on this web page collects a phone number.

What the first text looks like

Hi [First name], you've been invited to the OG Construction crew app. Set up your account: https://app.ogcrews.com/setup?token=[one-time-token]

OG Construction. Reply STOP to opt out.

Opting out and help

Reply STOP to any text to stop. You get one confirmation text and nothing more. Reply HELP for help, or call (907) 617-7484, or email OGconstructionPro@gmail.com. An employee who opts out is marked in the crew app so they are not texted again.

Records we keep

For each opt-in: the date, the employee's name and mobile number, the consent wording they agreed to, and how it was collected (the signed new-hire form). For each opt-out: the date and the number. Consent applies only to OG Construction Crew Texts and is never transferred to anyone else.
