Exteriors take the weather first
On the coast, an exterior fails where water gets in and cannot get out. A deck that stays wet rots from the underside; siding without a proper weather barrier and flashing lets moisture into the wall. We build and repair with drainage, ventilation and fasteners chosen for a wet, salty climate.
When we pull old siding or deck boards we look at what is behind them. If the framing has taken on water we show you with photos and price the repair before going further, instead of covering the problem with new material.

Do decks need a permit in Ketchikan?
It depends on where the property sits and on the height, size and whether it attaches to the house. We will check what applies to your deck.
Can you fix water damage behind the siding?
Yes. We open it up, look at the framing, show you what we find and price the repair, then side it properly.
Do you build decks on sloped lots?
Yes, sloped and uneven lots are common here and we plan the footings and framing for them.
